Medium and Short-term accommodation
– Medium-term accommodation
Lawmass Healthcare can provide Medium-term Accommodation (also known as MTA) as transitional accommodation for NDIS participants who are preparing to move into a more permanent home. The NDIS funds MTA for eligible participants for up to 90 days. This ensures that people living with disabilities are not forced into an aged care facility or made to wait in a hospital longer than necessary.
– Short-term accommodation
Lawmass Healthcare can provide accommodation for people with disabilities, to help them stay connected to the community rather than face longer stay in hospital. NDIS is very clear about Short-Term Accommodation and Medium-Term Accommodation. Here is a guide explaining what both types of accommodation are, and how we can work alongside you to access the services as required.
– What is Short-Term Accommodation?
a change in circumstances, or a crisis that puts the person at risk of homelessness or being prematurely placed into an aged care facility
- to receive capacity-building and/or independent living support
- for carers’ respite, if your carer has been hospitalised or if support staff are on leave
- for a holiday in a different setting
- if you are waiting for home modifications
- Recovering from an illness
