Short-term accommodation and Respite
Lawmass Health Care provides accommodation and respite options to participants needing such services. It is 24/7 and you have the choice to share the accommodation with other participants. We have trained support staff to support your stay.
WHY RESPITE?
Respite option is intended to provide additional support to both the participant and their carer. While the participant is in respite, it allows the carer to have a break from their usual caring responsibilities, and focus on their health and wellbeing, while also providing opportunities for the participant time away from family home and learn extra life skills as designed by Lawmass Health Care to meet most goals and objectives of participant plan.
- Joining a new community group
- having a short stay out of the home to try new things, make new friends, or develop new skills.
- temporary periods of extra personal support so that the participant can remain at home when families and/or careers are not available
- support to take part in community activities, resulting in a break for families.
For careers, taking some time off can help them better manage their health and improve their well-being
- Lawmass Health Care has strategised some principles in our Respite accommodations that tend to meet most goals and objectives in participants’ plans. these principles are:
Compulsory Activities
Compulsory activities are activities that need to occur for day-by-day living to occur. These are necessary activities to accomplish healthy and normal living within 24 hours. Participants are.
engaged in the activities to achieve their goal of building independence and becoming independent adults, Examples of these activities include. Bed making, morning routine hygiene, writing up shopping lists, grocery shopping, money, and budgeting.
Physical activities
Physical activity, exercise or sports can improve health and reduce the risk of developing diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Physical activity and exercise can have
immediate and long-term health benefits and that is why we have incorporated exercise as part of our morning routine and by choice during the day our respite accommodations.
Leisure Activities & Play
As the name implies, these engaging activities encourage both kids and adults to embrace their inner child, fostering a sense of joy and playfulness. They provide an opportunity for individuals to step away from the stresses of daily life, connect with their community in meaningful ways, unwind their minds, and simply enjoy moments of pure fun and relaxation.
